hectorville.

hectorville. where in the world is hectorville? it's on the map but, there is no signage and it's not part of the 251 club. more extra credit! we decided that if it was where the map said it was...it would be right near this little pull off. there was a small bridge, a river and a couple of picnic tables. nice! we thought about opening up someone's mailbox to look at the delivery address so we could confirm our location but, in the end we decided to keep it legal. we made our own sign and laid it out on a picnic table. we decided to take two pictures to prove we both visited hectorville, wherever it is.

here we are...posing with the sign.

belvidere center

this shot was a tad dangerous. we really wanted take advantage of the graphic background. look at those super cool trees! unfortunately, this sign was about 5 feet from the road and the road was between us and the camera. a vehicle would whiz by us every few minutes just as we were about to pose for our picture. eventually, we gave up and settled for the first shot we took. hmph. i had high hopes for belvidere center.

and now a moment of silence...

waterville.

after this stop, we discussed the need for some light propping as we move forward to the next towns. perhaps a bow and arrow or a sword? i wasn't on board with isaac's, "handgun" so i made him take this picture alone...or did i?

i'm not quite sure how we ended up with this picture. it doesn't really translate like we thought it would. i look like i'm saluting and isaac looks like he's pouting. the sign you can't read says, "falling ice and snow." so, i'm looking up for the snow that is many moons away and isaac is shivering due to the colder temperatures that we'll have to wait months to experience. it's funny! ok, perhaps not. but, we couldn't time our jumps properly in the other shots we took at this location so, we decided to post this one.

it's amazing what your mind and body will do when your camera timer indicates that it's going to fire in less than 5 seconds. my position in this picture is a perfect example of what can happen under this type of pressure. yeah, i don't know what i'm doing either.

this place is a bonus location meaning, it's not one of the 251 towns we need to visit to become members of the 251 club. it's on the map though so, we went for it. we know. overachievers. please hold your applause until the end.

see that friendly little man in the bucket behind us? he offered -- while he was way up there working with wires that carry an electrical current -- to take a picture of us. it would have been a great vantage point but, we couldn't put him out like that. i love vermont.

this is where isaac lived for seven or so years of his life, about 1000 feet from this school. oh, and look at the timing of this jump. first try!
